To apply for a council home in South Tyneside please complete the following questions about yourself, your household and your current circumstances so that we can assess your housing priority. You will need to answer questions about yourself, your partner if you have one, and your dependants if you have any. To answer these questions you may need to collect some information. You will need to provide details about the addresses where you,your partner and your dependants have lived. What if I don't have all of the information needed?
Don't worry. You don't have to complete your housing application in one go - you can save it and return to it later. To do this simply select the option to Save your Application which is on each page of the form. You will be asked to provide your Surname, date of birth and a password which you can use to retrieve your saved application.Retrieve a previously saved application here
What happens after I have completed my application?
Once you have completed your application the Your Choice Team will carry out some checks. This may be asking you for proof of Identification or a reference from your current landlord. Once we have processed your application we will contact you to confirm your details and tell you more about how to bid for a home.Please note that you will not be able to bid until your form has been processed
When you have joined the Your Choice scheme, and have an application reference number, you can Register for an Online Account which will allow you to Express an Interest in available homes online.
